# Shopify

> Add your agent to your Shopify store so it answers shoppers, finds products from your catalog, and tells customers where their order is.

Connecting Shopify does two things:

* **Adds the chat to your store**, on every page.
* **Connects your catalog and orders**, so the agent can search your products, with prices and links, and look up an order's status when the customer gives the order number and the email used at checkout.

You create a private app in your own Shopify account; nothing is installed from the Shopify App Store, and you can revoke access at any time.

<Note>
  Shopify is available on paid plans.
</Note>

## Create an app in Shopify

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the Dev Dashboard">
    In your Shopify admin, go to **Settings** > **Apps and sales channels** > **Develop apps** and click **Build apps in Dev Dashboard**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Create the app">
    Click **Create app**, choose **Start from Dev Dashboard**, name it, for example "Easy-Peasy.AI agent", and click **Create**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose its permissions">
    Under **API access**, click **Select scopes** and turn on `read_products` and `read_orders`. Add `read_all_orders` to let the agent find orders older than 60 days. Click **Done**, then **Release**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Install it and copy the credentials">
    On the app's **Overview**, click **Install app**, pick your store, and click **Install**. Then open the app's **Settings** and copy the **Client ID** and **Client secret**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Older stores that still have **Develop apps** > **Create an app** can create a custom app there instead, with the same permissions, and copy its Admin API access token (it starts with `shpat_`).

## Connect your store

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the Shopify channel">
    In Easy-Peasy.AI, open your agent, click **Channels**, and click **Connect** on **Shopify**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter your store's details">
    Enter your **Shop domain**, the one ending in `.myshopify.com` (find it in Shopify under **Settings** > **Domains**). Paste the **Client ID** and **Client secret**, or the **Admin API access token (older stores)**. Click **Save**. The connection is checked with Shopify before it's saved.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add the chat to your theme">
    Copy the **Chat widget embed code** from the same window. In Shopify, go to **Online Store** > **Themes**, click **…** next to your theme, and choose **Edit code**. Open `layout/theme.liquid`, paste the code just before `</body>`, and click **Save**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

To style the bubble (color, position, size), copy the install snippet from [**Channels** > **Website**](/docs/agents/website) instead; it works the same way in `theme.liquid`. If you publish another theme later, paste the code there too.

## Try it

* Ask "Do you have any yoga mats?" The agent lists matching products with prices and links.
* Ask "Where is my order?" The agent asks for the order number and the email used at checkout, and shares the status only when both match.

Product search and order status work in the chat on your website, the shareable link, and the Playground.

## Pause or disconnect

* **Pause:** switch off **Enable integration**. The agent stops using your store data; the chat stays on your theme until you remove the code.
* **Disconnect:** uninstall the app in Shopify, which revokes access immediately, and remove the code from your theme.
