# Invite people to a group chat

> Bring colleagues, clients, or freelancers into a group chat so they can work with your AI employees, with limits you control.

You can invite real people into a group chat: a colleague, a client, or a freelancer. They read the chat, write in it, @mention your employees, and file tasks, just as you do. Your employees work for them in that group chat, on your plan and with the limits you set.

An invited person gets one group chat, not a seat on your account. They can't see your other group chats, your direct messages, or your employees' settings.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Invited people need an Easy-Peasy.AI account, which is free. Every plan can invite people. See [How many people you can invite](#how-many-people-you-can-invite).

## Invite someone

Open the group chat and click **Invite** at the top. Or click the members' portraits at the top right to open **Members**, and click **Invite people**. There are three ways:

| Way | How it works |
| - | - |
| **Invite link** | Click **Copy** and send the link however you like. Anyone with the link can join with a free account. Each group chat has one link; click **Reset link** to make a new one, and the old one stops working. |
| **Invite by email** | Type one or more email addresses and click **Send**. Each email invite works once, for 14 days, and takes a place in the group chat until it's used or revoked. |
| **Add from your team** | On a Teams plan, pick teammates from your team. They join right away. |

![Members: the owner under People, Invite people with the invite link (blurred), Copy, Reset link and Invite by email, then the For invited people switches and Messages per person each day](https://mintcdn.com/easy-peasyai/n4m2_eaKJOfCT0eD/images/ai-employees/invite-people-panel.webp?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=n4m2_eaKJOfCT0eD\&q=85\&s=027ab3b8c631a4d2a4471088fa003d7f)

When someone opens the link or the email invite, they see the group chat's name and who's in it. Signed out, they click **Sign up free to join** or **I already have an account**. Then they click **Join the group chat**. The chat shows that they joined, and you get an email.

## What invited people can do

| They can | Only you can |
| - | - |
| Read the group chat and its threads | Approve or reject what employees prepare |
| Write messages and attach files | Stop employees while they work |
| @mention your employees and give them work | Change reply modes, the lead, and the members |
| File tasks for your employees and themselves, and review and close the tasks they filed | Rename or delete the group chat |
| Work on tasks assigned to them | Remove people |
| Invite others, if you allow it | See the Approvals and Tasks boards for all your group chats |
| Leave the group chat | |

In the sidebar, the group chat shows under **Shared with you**, with your name as the team's owner.

## What your employees do for them

Requests from invited people run on your plan: each reply uses your words, and anything generated uses your image & video credits. To keep your accounts and private work safe, your employees work differently for them:

* **Your apps are off by default.** Your employees answer them without your Gmail, Stripe, and other apps, unless you turn on **Their requests can use my connected apps**. Approvals still apply when it's on.
* **No videos by default.** Videos use the most credits, so they're off unless you turn on **Their requests can make videos**. Images, music, and speech always work.
* **Your private memory stays private.** Employees don't use what they learned in your private conversations, and nothing from these requests is saved to their memory.
* **A computer of the group chat's own.** Once anyone is invited, the group chat's work happens on its own [computer](https://easy-peasy.ai/docs/ai-employees/computer.md), not the employees' computers that hold your private files.
* **Less detail on tools.** Invited people see your employees' replies and which tools they used, but not the tools' inputs and results.

If your message and an invited person's message are answered in the same reply, your employee follows the rules for invited people. To use your apps or memory, ask in a direct message.

## Settings for invited people

Open **Members** in the group chat (the members' portraits at the top right). Under **For invited people**:

| Setting | What it does | Default |
| - | - | - |
| **They can invite others** | Lets members invite people with the link or by email. Only you can remove people. | Off |
| **Their requests can use my connected apps** | Lets your employees use the apps they have, such as Gmail or Stripe, for invited people. | Off |
| **Their requests can make videos** | Lets their requests generate videos. | Off |
| **Messages per person each day** | 10, 25, 50, 100, or **No limit**, over a rolling 24 hours. Counts messages and filed tasks. | 50 |

Each invited person can also send up to 30 messages an hour. The group chat gets a note when you change a setting.

## Email notifications

People in a group chat with invited people get emails about what they missed, but only when they're not looking at the chat. Each person picks what they get under **Email me about**:

| Option | You get an email about |
| - | - |
| **People's messages and replies to me** | Other people's messages, employee replies to your own requests, tasks assigned to you or delivered for your review, and, for the owner, people joining and leaving. The default. |
| **Everything** | Every new message. |
| **Nothing** | No emails. |

An email waits 5 minutes, isn't sent if you looked at the chat in the last 3 minutes, and shows the newest messages with a link to the chat. You get at most one email every 30 minutes for each group chat, and one every 15 minutes across all of them. Every email has a link to change the setting, which works without signing in.

## Remove someone or leave

* **To remove someone**, open **Members**, find them under **People**, and click the remove button. They can't come back with the link, only with a new email invite or as a teammate. If you shared the link widely, reset it.
* **To leave a group chat** you were invited to, open **Members** and click **Leave this group chat**. You'll need a new invite to come back.

## How many people you can invite

The limit is per group chat, set by the owner's plan. The owner isn't counted, and email invites that haven't been used yet take a place.

| Owner's plan | Invited people per group chat |
| - | - |
| Free | 2 |
| Paid plans | 10 |
| Teams and Enterprise | 20 |

You can send up to 20 email invites a day.

> [accordion] The invite says it doesn't work
>
> The link was reset, the email invite was already used or is older than 14 days, or the group chat was deleted. Ask the person who invited you for a new one. If it says the group chat is full, the owner's plan has no room for more people.

> [accordion] Can invited people hire their own employees?
>
> Yes, on their own account. The group chat shows **Hire your own AI team**, which starts their own [team onboarding](https://easy-peasy.ai/docs/ai-employees/hire.md). Their employees stay separate from yours.
