How to Add an AI Chatbot to Your Wix Website

Your Wix site already brings in visitors — but when they have a question at 11 PM, who answers? With Easy-Peasy.AI Bots, you can add an AI chatbot to your Wix website that knows your business and answers instantly, around the clock. Setup is genuinely simple: copy one line of code from your bot’s dashboard, paste it into Wix, and the chat bubble appears on every page. No app installs, no coding — about five minutes start to finish.

Why Add an AI Chatbot to Your Wix Site?

  • Answer visitors instantly. Most people leave a site if a question goes unanswered. A chatbot answers in seconds, 24/7.
  • Trained on your content. The bot learns from your website, documents, and FAQs — so answers are about your business, not generic chatter.
  • Capture leads while you sleep. Your bot can collect names and emails from interested visitors and hand them to you.
  • Keep your Wix design. The widget floats above your site and matches your brand color — your layout stays untouched.
  • One bot, every channel. The same agent can also answer on email, phone calls, WhatsApp, and more.

What You’ll Need

  • An Easy-Peasy.AI account with a bot created and trained on your content
  • A published Wix website you can manage (when we tested, the widget worked on a free Wix site — more on plans below)

How to Add the Chatbot to Wix (Step-by-Step)

Step 1: Create and train your AI agent

If you haven’t already, create your bot and add knowledge: paste your website URL, upload documents, or write Q&As directly. Give it instructions about tone and what to do when it doesn’t know an answer. Test it in the Playground until you’re happy with the replies.

Step 2: Copy your embed code

Open your bot and click Embedding in the left sidebar. Here you can customize the widget before copying the code: pick the position (bottom right is the classic), the button size, your brand color, and even a custom icon. The script below updates live as you change the settings — click Copy when it looks right.

Step 3: Open Custom Code in your Wix dashboard

In your Wix site’s dashboard, go to Settings and find Custom code under Development & integrations (typing “custom code” into the settings search box gets you there fastest). You’ll see three sections: Head, Body – Start, and Body – End.

Step 4: Paste the snippet

Click Add Code under Body – End and:

  1. Paste the script you copied from the Embedding page
  2. Give it a name like Easy-Peasy.AI Chat Widget
  3. Under Add Code to Pages, keep All pages with Load code once
  4. Make sure Place Code in is set to Body – end
  5. Click Apply

Step 5: Visit your site

Open your live site in a new tab — the chat bubble is already there, bottom right, in your chosen color. No republishing needed: Wix applies custom code to the live site immediately. Click the bubble, ask your bot a question, and watch it answer from your knowledge base.

Alternative: Embed the Chat Inline With an HTML iframe

The floating widget is right for most sites, but sometimes you want the chat embedded inside a page — say, a dedicated “Ask us anything” page. For that, use Wix’s HTML iframe element:

  1. Open your site in the Wix Editor and click Add Elements (+) → Embed CodeEmbed HTML
  2. Click Enter Code and paste your bot’s iframe snippet from the Embedding page — it looks like this:

<iframe src="https://bots.easy-peasy.ai/bot/YOUR-BOT-ID?mode=embedded" width="100%" height="600" allow="microphone"></iframe>

  1. Drag and resize the element to fit your layout, then Publish

Tip: set the iframe width to 100% so the chat fills the element on every screen size, and keep the height at 500–700 pixels for a comfortable conversation view.

A Note About Wix Plans

When we tested this guide, the Custom Code section was available on a free Wix site and the widget worked immediately on the published site. Wix has historically limited custom code to Premium plans with a connected domain, so if you don’t see the Custom code option in your dashboard, that’s the likely reason — either upgrade your plan or use the HTML iframe method above, which works in the Editor on any plan.

Customizing How the Widget Looks and Behaves

  • Position, size, color, and icon — set on the bot’s Embedding page before copying the code. If you change them later, just replace the snippet in Wix with the updated one.
  • Welcome message, avatar, and chat styling — set on the bot’s Appearance page. These update live; no need to touch the Wix code again.
  • Lead capture — turn it on in your bot’s settings to collect visitor emails during conversations.

Tips for a Great On-Site Chatbot

Train it on the pages visitors actually ask about

Pricing, shipping, booking, opening hours — feed the bot the pages that answer your most common questions, and retrain whenever they change.

Write a welcoming first message

A greeting like “Hi! Ask me anything about our services” invites clicks far better than a silent bubble.

Check your allowed domains

If you’ve restricted which domains can embed your bot in its settings, remember to add your Wix domain — otherwise the widget won’t load on your site.

Test on mobile

Most Wix traffic is mobile. Open your site on your phone and make sure the bubble doesn’t cover a key button — if it does, switch the widget position on the Embedding page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this work on a free Wix site?

In our test, yes — the Custom Code section was available and the widget worked on a free published site. If your dashboard doesn’t show Custom code, use the HTML iframe method in the Editor instead.

Will the chatbot slow down my Wix site?

No — the script loads with defer, meaning your page renders first and the widget loads quietly afterwards.

Does the widget appear on every page?

Yes, if you choose All pages when adding the code. You can also pick specific pages in the same dialog.

How do I remove or pause the chatbot?

Go back to Settings → Custom code in Wix and toggle the snippet off or delete it. The widget disappears from your live site immediately.

Can I use the same bot on Wix and other platforms?

Yes. The same embed code works on WordPress, Shopify, and any site that accepts HTML — and the same bot can answer on email, phone, WhatsApp, Messenger, and Slack through its Integrations page.

Does this work with Wix Studio?

Yes — Wix Studio sites have the same Custom code section in the site dashboard, and the steps are identical.
