Want an AI assistant on your Shopify store that answers product questions, recommends items from your live catalog, and tells customers where their order is? With the Easy-Peasy.AI Bots Shopify integration, you can set all of that up in about 5 minutes — no coding and no app review required.
What Does the Shopify Integration Do?
Connecting your Shopify store to your bot unlocks three things:
- A chat widget on your storefront — your bot answers customer questions right on your store, on every page.
- Live product search — the bot looks up products, prices, and availability from your real catalog and links customers straight to the product page.
- Order tracking — customers can ask “Where is my order?” and the bot looks it up after verifying their order number and checkout email.
You don’t need to install anything from the Shopify App Store. Instead, you create a private app inside your own Shopify account — only you can see it, and you can revoke it at any time.
Step 1: Create an App in Your Shopify Dev Dashboard
The bot reads your products and orders through a private app that you create yourself.
Note: newer Shopify stores use the Dev Dashboard flow below. If your store still shows Settings → Apps and sales channels → Develop apps with an option to create a custom app directly, you can use that instead: enable the same scopes, install the app, and copy its shpat_ Admin API access token.
- In your Shopify admin, go to Settings → Apps and sales channels → Develop apps and click Build apps in Dev Dashboard (this opens dev.shopify.com).
- Click Create app, choose Start from Dev Dashboard, name it something like
Easy-Peasy Bot, and click Create. - On the Create version page, click Select scopes under API access and enable:
read_products— lets the bot search your catalogread_orders— lets the bot look up order statusread_all_orders— lets the bot find orders older than 60 days
- Click Done, then Release (top right) and confirm.
- Back on the app’s Overview page, click Install app in the Installs card, pick your store, and click Install.
- Open the app’s Settings page and copy the Client ID and Client secret from the Credentials section.
Step 2: Connect the Store to Your Bot
- In Easy-Peasy.AI, open your bot and go to Integrations → Shopify.
- Enter your Shop domain — the
.myshopify.comone, e.g.mystore.myshopify.com. You can find it in Shopify under Settings → Domains. - Paste the Client ID and Client secret from Step 1 and click Save. (On older stores with a legacy custom app, paste the
shpat_Admin API access token instead.)
We verify the connection with Shopify before saving, so if you see an error, double-check the domain and credentials.

That’s it for the smart features — your bot can now search products and track orders in every channel it’s connected to, including the website widget and the Playground.
Step 3: Add the Chat Widget to Your Storefront
- In the Shopify integration dialog, copy the Chat widget embed code. It looks like this (yours contains your bot’s unique ID):
<script src="https://bots.easy-peasy.ai/chat.min.js"
data-chat-url="https://bots.easy-peasy.ai/bot/YOUR-BOT-ID"
data-btn-position="bottom-right" defer></script>
- In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes, click the … (or Actions) button on your current theme, and choose Edit code.
- Open
layout/theme.liquid. - Paste the embed code right before the closing
</body>tag and click Save.
The chat bubble now appears on every page of your store. You can change its color, position, and icon on the bot’s Embedding page.
Tip: if you use multiple themes, repeat this in each theme you publish.
Trying It Out

- Ask the bot something like “Do you have any hoodies?” — it should reply with matching products, prices, and links.
- Ask “Where is my order?” — the bot will ask for the order number and the email used at checkout, and only reveal the order status when both match. This keeps your customers’ order details private.
Managing the Integration
- Pause — use the Enable integration toggle in the Shopify dialog. While paused, the bot stops using your store data (the widget stays on your theme until you remove the snippet).
- Disconnect — delete the integration in Easy-Peasy.AI and uninstall the app in Shopify, which immediately revokes access. You can also rotate the Client secret in the Dev Dashboard at any time.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are my Shopify credentials safe?
Yes. The app is created by you, in your own Shopify account, with read-only permissions you choose. Your credentials are stored securely, never shown to your customers or the AI model, and you can revoke access instantly by uninstalling the app or rotating the Client secret.
Can the bot see my customers’ personal data?
The bot only reveals order details after the customer provides both the order number and the exact email used at checkout. Without a match, nothing is shared.
Why can’t the bot find older orders?
Shopify only exposes the last 60 days of orders by default. Enable the read_all_orders scope in Step 1 to let the bot find older orders.
Do I need to install an app from the Shopify App Store?
No. The integration works through a private app you create yourself, plus a small embed snippet in your theme. Nothing is published or reviewed by Shopify.
